Can i use the same essays to apply to two cornell schools?

I'm applying to the College of Arts and Sciences as my first choice and the School of Industrial Labors as my second choice.
For my essay i talk about my passion for economics and psychology, which is what i would be studying if i got into either school. They also have the same essay prompts, so there isn't much i can change anyways.

I heard that both colleges do not read both essays, only the essay intended for their school, but i just want a confirmation so i don't mess up my chances.

i wrote two different essays, which is what i think they were asking. even if the question is the same, they’re completely different schools. i did human ecology and ilr, but pretty much had similar reasons. since ilr is my second choice, my essay wasn’t as detailed as my first, but i used similar ideas.

My guess is that you are fine. I think this primary/alternate thing can be difficult to deal with. How can you support your passion for a primary choice and tell how much studying that would mean to you and then turn around and write about something else? I think it’s hard. Sounds like you solved the problem! You found two similar courses of study and supported them in the same ways. What else could you have done?

They say both schools don’t read them, but that can’t be guaranteed, can it???

You need to change the essays a bit, but overall they can convey the same topics; however, you should really do more research into the ILR curriculum, because if you just talk about psychology and economics, that doesn’t bode too well for you understanding what ILR is, and therefore, should you go to your alternate college, they will most likely make a speedy reject.

I’m applying to the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Agrculture and Life Sciences. Can I use the same base essay and tweak it for each college since I’m applying for the same major- biological sciences?
