Can internationals avail of the Macbook + free iPod touch offer?

I'm an international, and my school requires me to purchase a laptop from the four they've prescribed: Macbook, Macbook Pro, Dell Latitude 630 and HP Tablet. The laptops are going to be shipped directly to my school, so yeah. My question is: I really want to get a Macbook because of the free iPod +free printer offer for college students, but Apple doesn't accept international credit cards, and my school says they can buy it for me but then I don't get the offer. Are there any alternative ways I can pay through that allow me to avail of this offer? I'm sort of clueless--as is rather evident. Thanks a ton for your help!

Okay, don't know where your from, but check out this: The Apple Store - International

I looked at the UK site and it looks like they still offer the discount.

Okay, I'm from India, and it's not listed on here.

Anyone? Please. :)

You might be able to pay for it through Paypal, or something? I'm not sure what Apple accepts. Also, you'll want a mail forwarding service, so that you can get it shipped to India. Or you can just wait until you get here and buy it at one of the Apple stores.

You cannot order a macbook with the educational discount in India. Wait till you get to US.

I'm a little confused as to if I should buy the laptop through my school or here, because it's proving out to be a tad cheaper in India (which sounds absurd, but is true).

Is it a better option for me to purchase it from India and cover it with 3-year international warranty? Am I likely to face any challenges once I'm in the US with a Mac from here?

I'd really appreciate any help I could get on this front. Thanks a ton!

wait till you come to us and order your macbook/ipod touch there?

anyone else?

Yes, please, I'd really like as many votes as I could get on this front.

Thank you all for all your help.

Just wait. Because the tad amount you are talking about is worth the wait. You get a free ipod and printer too so wait.

Ajay, do you mean we should order it online when we get to the US or get it from an Apple store?

It varies. If you want to get get it from a store in US so be it. It works either way. BUT just get it in US.

Yaar now in India too .... the apple scheme of discounted macbooks is available. I mailed apple guys and within 20 mins they called me up detailing on their products. In fact student discount is slightly more than 200$ on some macbooks however including taxes and all becomes too expensive :(

I myself am about to buy a macbook pro..... and as for ipod bundling u looking for wait for 2 weeks Vodafone launching iPhone 3G in India according to techtree :) You can use ur saved 200$'s for iphone.

Just wondering though which college in India makes it indispensable for u to buy laptops within the choices u mentioned?
