When does Apple start offering that deal with the MacBook and free iPod+printer?

Soon Enough

The freebies are really rebates, so you have to pay upfront to begin with

Last year, the educational discount started the first week of June.

Have you looked into an Apple Developer Connection student membership discount? It costs $99 but you can get larger discounts on Apple products (like a Macbook Pro 15" for $1599 down from $1999).

if i buy a refurbished mac, will i still be able to get this free ipod+printer deal?

last year it was June 5th.

I’d look into buying it from your school, and compare that with buying it direct from apple. Buying from my school, it’s about 80 bucks cheaper than from the apple store, and you get the iPod rebate, but no printer rebate, so I was thinking actually it’s like 20 bucks more when it’s all said and done.

Then I realized apple charges sales tax. By purchasing it through my school, and having it shipped to my house, I pay the 30 bucks in shipping, but dodge 130 bucks in sales tax.

Just something to consider…

Rumor has it the deal will come as early as next week (which would make sense, as the past two sales began June 3rd and 5th).

Rumors of a possible iPhone instead of iPod are also out there, though of course it’d require a 2-year contract. (Presumable 8gb iPhone 3g)

It’s out today. No iphone. [Here it is.](http://store.apple.com/us/browse/campaigns/back_to_school) You get a free 8 gig ipod touch - $229 normally. (You can also get a classic ipod for the same $229 or anything cheaper.)

You can also still get a white MacBook. They upped the specs on it - faster processor, bus, larger drive - but didn’t add multi-touch to the trackpad. Now $949 for students.

last year, they had a free ipod touch and a free HP printer with the purchase of a Mac. Do you guys think that they’ll add in the free printer too this year?

^I doubt it. They would’ve put the free printer in with the deal, too.

Apple have $29 billion in savings yet they choose to be so stingy.

The new white Macbook is a great deal for the money (especially considering it’s a Mac).

Oh please. The printer deal is continuous: buy a Mac, get $100 back on a printer. If you buy a printer that’s $100, you get it free. We do that and donate the extra printers to charities. (Dell and other companies usually have some free printer thing too.)

So to summarize, you can buy the white MacBook for $949, get a $229 8 gig iPod Touch for free and a $100 printer for free.

^Oh, right, yes, just found that on the website. My bad. You have to get it before July 20, though.

[Buy a printer with your Mac - Apple Store (U.S.)](http://store.apple.com/us-hed/browse/home/campaigns/printer_promo)

cdover, I’m pretty sure it’ll just start over again. That deal has been going on long before this past April, as it currently states. (I’m sure they have a reason for running it in 3 month cycles, though I don’t really know.)

Wow, I needed a new printer and mp3 player. The Apple deal is very tempting…
