I know regular decision deadline is done but Michigan does have rolling admission. If you want Michigan to see your first semester senior year grades (mid year report), when is the best time to apply? These would be released (for my school) around mid January.

Since Michigan typically defers rather than rejects, I would apply as early as possible. If you are not admitted, you will most likely be deferred and they will ask for your mid-year report.

Thanks, I’ll apply ASAP then. The thing is that there is a dent in my grades… for example, I did poorly in the honors level course of a subject, but I want to show that I am doing much better in the AP level/my grades are better overall now (senior year). Could I just mention this on my app (would that make the chances of deferment greater than rejection) somewhere?

Also (didn’t want to start a new topic), but if I plan to take courses at a community college, do I just list them and put the start date as later on? Oh and do these count as AP courses?

no, they won’t count as AP
