Can one choose to have room-mate of opposite sex at Harvard?

As topic says, is this possible at Harvard or any other of the Ivies(HYP)? It might sound perverted or something but no, I'm not a potential rapist and it's not due to religious causes or anything personal. I would just feel more comfortable sharing room with a female then a male (me being a male) :)

Harvard has single gender rooms.

If I may ask, why would you feel more comfortable with a girl?

single gender rooms? Is it like single rooms? sounds boring.

I meant that all rooms are single gender. Basically, the answer to your question is "no."

Yeah, but from what I've heard, it is pretty common that girlfriends sleep over and stuff like that, so Harvard is very liberal in this case. So if you should hook up with someone you don't just get to share the same room, but the same bed.

As a matter of fact, this is a lot better than having mixed-sex rooms, as you could get assigned someone you don't like or who doesn't like you...

Oh I get it. Well, I guess I was being a bit sarcastic. Like what guy on earth doesn't want to share room with a girl :D but thanks for the info.

Most girls want to share with girls, though, so there would be a lot of competition for the girls who want to share with guys, anyway. :p

Yeah, but image how tough this competition would be at MIT.

Probably a lot harder than to get into the college...

MIT is definitely over 40% female. Probably like 45%. And a lot of them are really hot.

But jeez, you can understand why colleges have single-gender dorm rooms. Imagine the sexual harrassment law suits.

If you want to live with a girl, get an appartment and live off campus after freshman year.

Yeah, let's not be knocking MIT girls here, lol.

Hey, corranged--do you want to room with a girl? ;)

Haha. Duh. ;)

Pssst let's try not to let this topic get deleted.

Corranged--Well see that's the thing, lol. Maybe they prefer that lesbians room with straight guys, to avoid funny business in the dorms :p In which case, maybe we could room. Some serious girl-hunting then ;) lol

Wouldn't they prefer lesbians living with gay guys? I mean, that's how you avoid funny business. But where do you keep the bis?

Yeah, way to go, Guitar. lol

So any last words before this thread is deleted?

Mit is 47 percent female, its not like they are missing out or anything, relax. Ha i wish my future gf/wife goes to mit, life would be a lot less stressful for me knowing she can handle all the bills (lol)

Seriously, i want to do politics or something and i want to not have to worry about making money in it.

Wow, there is nowhere i can go with this thread, there is no hidden joke i can pull out. Its not like hes asking if bathrooms are unisex, and i can joke that the next thing he'll want is to share rooms with girls-he already asked that (and so casually too!)

Co-ed rooms? Next thing you know, they'll have co-ed classrooms!

Hahahaha :)

No.......no, no, never! Not beloved Harvard!

This is seriously, seriously weird. Y'all are creepy.
