I did it, so I'm pretty sure it's not just a myth.

here at De Anza, every people in bio-related major either get in UCLA OR UCB, that includes a student with 4.0 GPA, all major courses completed, and various leadship position.

The admissions committees of both schools share student information, and UCB informs in advance the admissions status of all students concurrently applying to UCLA. Once such information has been gathered, only students with superior genes are admitted with the inferior sort only being accepted at one of the institutions.

Is that how the UCs look at apps? No wonder I got into UCLA and not UCB. Good thing I got in on appeal. Phew.
