Am I the only one having trouble signing up for admitted student events at GT? Such as gold carpet days. Also, I cant seem to access the admitted CS students day event at GT.
Am I the only one having this problem.

They said that they’re all full at this point in time
@kjake2000. It may be better to visit GaTech without the hype of a visit day. Visit days are good
to meet other high school students. If you wander around on your own, and ask to meet a CS professor
and sit in on a class, you will get more out of the visit. My son skipped all the visit day hype and got
a very good feel for GaTech in 11th grade, was sold on it, and did not need to travel during 12th grade.
You can wander into the CS building and talk to anyone you want. If you go to a visit day, you are stuck
with other high school kids for the most part. Go on a different day.
Thanks @Coloradomama
Problem is I only have two days I can go to GT. I’ll likely still go on those two days but not on the admitted students tour.
What you said makes sense, thats what I’ll do.
@Coloradomama , we are headed out to GT for a visit to an admitted student day…my son would mostly like to get a vibe for the other students in terms of competitiveness (a real drawback), overall happiness, stress, etc. Any thoughts on how best to do this?
@Womama try hanging out in a cafeteria and talking to students you meet. Over on the east campus,
this might work–

There are west campus dining rooms too if you happen to be on that side of campus. Its easy to walk
from east to west in about 15 minutes.
I did not do the GaTech visit with my son, but this worked well at other colleges we visited.
Not sure how busy they will keep you. I think there will be time for questions.
GaTech is in the middle for stress, in my opinion. Not as bad as places like Johns Hopkins, Columbia,
or Caltech or even RPI seems, but not as easy and relaxing with tons of free time, as some lower ranked colleges.
GaTech has a lot of in major requirements, compared to some other programs.
It may also depend on exactly when you land on campus, so before midterms and finals,it will seem more
stressed out on any campus. It can be a little misleading to show up for one day, but we
have to do the best we can, and it is nice to see the campus for the student, and picture himself there.
I hope the magnolia trees are in bloom! Be sure to stop by the Recreation Center on west campus,
nice pools, work out equipment, and lots of exercise and workout classes available-
@kjake2000 did you visit? what do you think? not to bother you or anything, but somehow I am very nervous about my choice and keep hoping that what you decide may put me at ease or help me figure out if I am making a bad choice
Please let me know when you decide! Thank you…@Kjake2000
I visited Berkeley and found out a majority (over half) end up being able to declare CS as their major through L&S. I found the depth of courses great, and I don’t think I can pass up CS at Berkeley. As of now, Berkeley is what I am going to go with.
@kjake2000 wow! that’s great news! did you visit GT? I am curious of what you thought of it.
good luck to you, are your parents okay with your choice?
I wish my parents would let me take chances like this…
