Can Penn hook you up with a dorm to spend the night?

Everything I want to ask is in the title. So can they?

Well can they?

I’m really surprised you didn’t get many detailed answers in 42 minutes. :frowning: Maybe you should ask again.

I don’t know. You could ask Admissions. A lot of pre-frosh know current students so just stay with them. All the dorms are different though, so I’m not sure how much spending the night at a random dorm would do for you. The high-rises, in fact, technically aren’t even dorms at all! (Having private bathrooms is wonderful!)

I want to know the same thing. I would like to visit this week, but my family doesnt have the means so I emailed them, but probably a little too late since I did it on friday. Im hoping they can do something. Multicultural weekend was around the same time as washu’s so it would be a little too much for me. so this week is the only time I could visit, and I don’t want to decide on a school without visiting.

I would call them rather than emailing. I would also give first priority to visiting Penn.

Best of luck!

I really don’t know any current students. In order to go to a preview day though, I would need to spend the night. Who should I call and what accomodations could Penn make?

I already signed up for washu way before Penn can’t take that back.

My mom wants to call, but who should she call. Admissions or financial aid?

To repeat: Who should I call and what accomodations could Penn make?

BreakerBoy there should be information about that in your admissions packet.

Well thank you, but it’s not one of the months for hosted overnight visits and I still don’t know anyone on the campus.

I appreciate the help, but I’m sort of a special case right now. I need to attend an information session but can only do so if I find on-campus lodging for a night.

Should I just call, explain my situation, and ask for a “special arrangement”?

That’s exactly what you should do. Good luck with everything!

does anyone know if penn gives travel waivers for admitted students??

Last year they helped students out during Multicultural Scholars Weekend (which everyone should go to if invited)

Dear Jinnesse,

Unfortunately we do not offer any travel vouchers or waivers for school visits or Penn Preview Days.

SFS/gl

Thas what they told me!

Definitely do that . they will set you up with a student host and you’ll stay with them for the day/sleep in their dorm. A few people in my hall are hosts and have kids visit fairly often.

Penn is bogus. my friend in the nursing program is getting her travel paid for. and i knwo another kid who got his paid for also. I dont understand why they’re picking and choosing.
