Can raise my semester 1 GPA: 3.468 to a 3.5 by the end of semester 2 my both in my junior year.

:-/ i had straight A’s last quarter of my second semester but got 5 A’s 2 B’s 1 C’s. second semester. do you’ll think ll make it?

@RDaniel only you can figure out how many courses you’ve taken, and how each of your grades are weighted (as in, some courses could carry more or less credit than others). From there, computing your cumulative GPA is just arithmetic.

But assuming your courses all have equal weight, and A = 4, B = 3, etc. your second semester GPA is (54 + 23 + 1*2)/8 = 3.5. If your GPA up to your second semester was less than 3.5, then your overall GPA will still be less than 3.5 (but very close).

@RDaniel I’m not sure this is correct, but this how I figure my son’s cumulative gpa when trying to see how much it might move. Unfortunately, it’s hard to move your gpa significantly by second sem. junior year, unless you have a super good semester.
I take 3.468 x 5 semesters = 17.34 plus 3.5 (2nd sem junior year) = 20.84 divided by 6 total semesters = 3.473 new cumulative gpa at the end of junior year, provided you get a 3.5 second semester.

@uwalummom I just recieved my report card and you are correct. I recieved a 3.4727z I’m taking an online summer class and I guarantee I will get an A. will it bump up to a 3.5?

@RDaniel I’m sorry, but my son’s school doesn’t offer summer school, so I don’t know how to add that in. Will that one summer class have the same weight as a full semester during the school year? Maybe ask your guidance counselor?

@RDaniel no one here can answer that question definitively but you.

If you know how many units/credits the summer course carries, and the total number of units/credits you have completed thus far, then you can compute your cumulative GPA assuming you get an A in the course.

@RDaniel

Simply substitute different projected grades for your next semester, and recalculate the average.

@uwalummom I asked and she said it will just be accumulated to the current GPA. So, I am guessing it is the same semester because the calculations will not make sense if it was a separate semester. It is an online class where I can start anytime of the year and I just completed 4 semester online classes with high A’s. Each class is accredited the same credits as it was per semester.
