Raising 2.7 GPA to a 3.0?

Hello, I'm currently a junior in my 2nd semester of high school. My current GPA is a 2.6 UW but I calculated it would be around a 2.72 GPA by the end of this semester. I'm planning on doing 2-3 summer school classes to bump it up to a 2.79. I was wondering if my first semester classes of senior year would count towards college applications? I REALLY need to bring this to a 3.0 and it would be possible if senior year first semester counts, it would be raised to a 3.0

By my calculations, if you value your summer classes as half a semester, got A’s in everything in summer and 1st semester senior year, you’d still come up short. 2.90 to 2.95 is about the best you can do.

Well crap. Is there any other way to bring it up?

Go back in time two years and kick your freshman self in the a$$ for putting the current you in such a bind.

Your best bet is to do what you plan on doing, getting A’s and then play the improving grades card. It won’t get you past any hard cutoffs, but might help out at a school that evaluates applications holistically.

I think it is extremely difficult/impossible to get your GPA up to 3.0. But that doesn’t mean you’re screwed. If you show huge improvements by getting straight A’s then it’s still a plus.

Sigh. I calculated it and the max I can get is a 2.97. ■■■
