Can scholarships be retracted?

I recently got accepted into Northeastern with a very generous scholarship offer plus a lot of grants. However, they told me the offer was "tentative" and would be finalized after I send in my mid year report. My grades this last semester weren't great....how bad do my grades have to be for them to reduce or retract the offer?

I think you should ask in the NEU forum since it’s so specific to that school.

According to NEU’s website, you have to be in the top 25% of incoming freshmen to receive a merit scholarship; so your grades have to keep you in that top 25% to receive a scholarship, and it is possible that the amount can be reduced accordingly.

Also be aware that at many (probably most) schools that have merit scholarships there is a minimum GPA required in order to have that scholarship renewed for the remaining years at the school.
