Can somebody please tell me my chances of getting into Penn State University Park?

All right guys, here's my stats:

GPA- 3.7 unweighted (I couldn't tell you my weighted off the top of my head)

ACT score: 24 composite, 28 English, 23 math

Class rank: Top 30%

Out of state: Utah

I applied September 1st and am still waiting. I have a decent amount of EC's. I've been involved with a club every year. My mother is an alumnus. (her whole side of the family went there, but I don't really think they would count). I also checked the "Summer semester" box. My major is undecided. Please tell me if I'm missing any important stats.

May be hard with that ACT score.

yoru act of 24 is below the middle 50% at Penn State University Park; however your GPA is in the mid 50%. Admissions at Penn State is mostly a numbers game, it seems; since you haven’t received a yes or no yet, it could still be a yes; it depends on the quality of the applicant pool this year. Good luck!

Thanks guys, I really appreciate your input! I’ll be sure to post my decision (whether it’s a yes or a no) as soon as it comes. Penn State was absolutely the “reach” school I applied to, so I’ve sort of prepared myself for the worst. I guess it is a good sign that they haven’t turned me down yet!

One of my friends (who is a junior at PSU-Upark) got in with 3.5 gpa, 25 ACT, amazing essays, good ECs/awards, etc. If she can make it, so can you!

Alright guys, I just got the “decision will be here in the coming days” application status! Crossing my fingers

grigg02- That’s excellent! I’m definitely that kind of person. I don’t have the perfect GPA or the best test score, but I did put a lot of effort into the essay portion because of that reason. Thanks a lot for posting that, it’s really given me more confidence!

Hey guys, I received my acceptance letter from University Park yesterday!! =D Thank you all for posting on my thread!

Congrats light
