3% 3.4 is low

I'd give you a 1/3rd shot. 3.4 is low, but this school isn't that hard to get into. 3.8 isn't the average of the incoming freshman classes at Irvine, although one could reasonably expect that when you read the admit profiles on the UC website. In fact, reasonably speaking, the actual people that GO to Irvine, would likely have GPAs hovering ~3.5. By no means are you in for sure, but a 3% chance of getting in probably isn't accurate either.

Generally speaking, how much do you think should be subtracted from the 'published/admitted' GPA to give you an idea of what the incoming freshmen is? Exception being Cal and UCLA probably I guess.

I thought it was a requirement that you take the Math II for one of your SAT II's? You don't have it listed.

No it's not required. What it is, is that if you choose to take a math SAT II it has to be Math 2 and can not be Math 1.

There's no generally speaking subtraction going on, but I would imagine it gets bigger the lower down the UC tier you go. For example, the 4.04 listed for UCSD can probably go as low as 3.7 or 3.8, but the 3.5 that UCR lists can probably go down a lot more since it's common practice for a lot of applicants to list UCR as a safety (even if they get into Cal/LA). What would probably be more helpful is if someone bumped up the old "accepted/rejected" thread from last year to give you a better sampling. As a word of caution though, people that stumble on CC usually have a lot better stats, so even that would be an inflation of the actual range of admitted freshman.

SAT II Math IIC is not a requirement for admissions.
