Can someone clear up SAT score sending to colleges for me? urgent

So I'm applying early decision to Cornell and there ED deadline is November 5. So I went to to collegeboard to send scores and noticed it takes a while and there is "rush reporting." Is it ok if i use the regular reporting before November 5th since that is there deadline or did they want the scores by then? Can anyone clarify.

Call Cornell admissions tomorrow and ask them. They aren’t going to make it by tomorrow anyway, so one day will not make or break you. And it is a lot cheaper if you don’t have to rush them.

Get a second opinion, but it is my understanding that if you send your scores before the deadline, then you are fine.

It takes schools about 2 weeks to receive your scores. So for Cornell, this should be a bit before or right around the time that they view your profile.

Once again though, this is only my understanding of the process.

You should be fine. No need to rush report.

most colleges prefer regular reporting from CB since ‘regular’ is electronic. “Rush” is hardcopy sent by priority mail. Thus, it requires a manual process once it arrives.

OK thanks a lot, what I don’t get is if there sent electronically why does it take so long for them to get it?

You should order regular delivery and do it now. It can take up to week or little more before they are delivered. That there is electronic delivery does not change the fact that human beings must process your order and verify it for sending. There are a limited number of human beings to do that and you will be ordering at a time when thousands of others are also ordering scores sent. Nevertheless, regular delivery is fine because scores can arrive after Nov 5 for Cornell. In fact, Cornell accepts Nov test scores for ED and those scores won’t even be released for three weeks.

Ok thanks for all the help everyone
