Here is the rundown, at my school an A-, A and A+ are all treated the same as a 4.0, similarly a B-, B+ and B are all treated as a 3.0. When I apply to college do I state the UW GPA my school gives me or the letter grade I received? I know for UC’s and CSU it doesn’t really matter but for other colleges what do I do? I go to a very difficult high school so the grades are weighted this way. I believe on my transcript it will show the grade with the symbol but I’m not entirely sure. The difference is pretty substantial as I get almost all A-'s.
If I read your question right cause you seem to be asking two different things…You report the overall gpa that is on your transcript where it asks for gpa. Where it asks for grades you put the letter grade with the + or - if the directions say to include it. If you are doing an app where you have to list the classes and grades, the directions clearly state if you should include the + or -. I have seen it done with them and without them.
For grades it is looking for a letter, not the numerical value. Many times, colleges recalculate your gpa per their standards.
