Can someone help me with housing contract?

Well I try to update my housing choices, but whenever I go there it says my contract is not active for Fall 2006/Spring 2007. Now I have paid for the housing application in Sept. 2005, and when I look at my housing status it says it is active. However, when I try to update the choices it says it is not active. I also have been admitted and paid my admission deposit as well. Any suggestions or am I stupid and doing something wrong?

you have to wait for your actual contract to be mailed, which is based on when you paid your enrollment deposit. (but you'll still get your dorm preference based on when you send in your housing app, too)

like for me, i paid my enrollment depost in early/mid march, and i got my contract mailed like mid april.

it wouldn't hurt to call housing. they said it usually takes a month after you pay your enrollment deposit.

I paid just last thursday, and tried calling yesterday without success. So if I paid for the dorm application like the second day it was available last September and desired a single room, I should have a good chance of getting it?

Also if you don't mind what was posted on your contract in terms of your choices?

Also would I have a good chance of getting into the honors quad, even though I got rejected from BHP but I'm still in McCombs and sent my application very early? I'm looking at Andrews, Carothers, and San Jac as my three choices now

i'm not really sure about the housing contract choices, but it seems as a first-come, first-served basis.
I paid my deposit for housing and enrollment in early April, and now I'm stuck w/ a supplemental housing contract. (they say they can only give me that now)

i think honors quad students must have a prerequisite of being in an honors program, unless there's some honors person who wants you to be his/her roommate.
(not too sure about that, you should check w/ housing)

try emailing them at housing@austin.utexas.edu
they are pretty good about responding ASAP

there are also lots of forums about how San Jac was filled up within hours in September..but everyone's keeping their fingers crossed! lol

yea; honors is pretty much reserved for honors ppl, unless you gotta honors roomie.

the choices online are pretty much all the cluster of dorms. however, all the honors dorms are just listed under "honors," so i think they contact you to see which honors dorm you want. i was called by a housing person the day she sent out the contract, asking me what my honors preferences were. (i had contacted Plan2 and asked them what was up, cuz i haven't heard from housing and i wanted to be in the honors dorms). so online, my preferences were honors, san jac, then jester; but my honors prefs were carothers, andrews, and then blanton.

yea, if you want a single room, you're prob getting jester. you're chances for san jac are slim to none, and if you want a single room, you prob won't get honors, unless you find an honors roomie.

If you were accepted into an honors program and the person you want to room with was not, can you and the "non-honors" roomie both live in honors??
