Can Someone Help Me With My Scheldule?

Hey I am a Pre-med/ Molecular... Biology Major and have no idea what classes i should start looking at for the fall.

I have orientation on Monday and I want to check out the teachers on bruinwalk etc and plan out a scheldule before I go, but have no freakin clue what I am Doing.

Can somebody steer me in the right direction?

I think i should be taking 3 series calc, prolly Life Sciences 1, but wht else?

Thanks a lot beforehand.

start the chem series..so take chem 14a..oh and lavelle is the only one teaching it this fall.....good luck on that

You should definitely take math 3A. Have you completed writing I? If not, you should try to get into one of the classes. You don't actually need to take LS 1 right away - you should consider taking LS2 instead. You should also pick a non-science GE. I've listed four classes you could take but you only need three to be considered a full-time student.

isn't there a chem prereq for LS2?

Ya take a math class, a science class (chem or LS1), and a nice easy GE.

so you would recommend 3 classes? or maybe four if i decide to take writing I?

would it be bad to take a chem class second quarter instead of first in hopes of getting a better teacher?

3 for the first quarter unless you really insist on 4.

Liveforindie, you're right - there is a chem pre-req for LS2... I definitely didn't know that...

Rosedust, one problem with deciding to wait an extra quarter in hopes for a better professor (at least in the chem department) is that most of the time, the same professor teaches the class quarter, after quarter, after quarter - so in the long run, you'll may have to face a "bad" professor.

is lavelle really that bad? has anyone taken a class with him and done poorly? the bruinwalk ratings aren't encouraging.

i don't think lavelle is taht bad. Chem is a hard subject, and from his ratings i got the sense that his class isn't impssble if ur willing to work hard

yeah, i got that impression too.

Okay i decided on Math 3A with Popa, LS1 with Hespenheide, but am conflicted on the next 1-2 classes.

I took AP Chem and Physics senior year and I got 5s on those so I was thinking either Chem14A with Lavelle or Physics 6A (with The Staff???) or even maybe starting on that med school req of 1 yr of english by taking EngComp3 with Shaffer or Steinberg which seems easy since I took AP Lit and got a 5.

Does anyone have some advice? Thanks!

isn't english 3 just one quarter, how would it satisfy the requirement?

haha your right... im still thinking its high school.. I mean like starting on that 1 yr requirement.

take chem, stay away from the staff.

okay i was leaning towards chem anyway. Could i take Physics 6B instead of 6A 1st? And is it a good idea to start taking Eng Comp?

i don't know anything about english. sry.

No, the Physics 6-series must be taken in order. 6A is a pre-req to taking 6B.

Rumor has it that the Physics 6H (honors) series is easier than the regular.

fallenstar, you're not allowed to take English Comp 3... you said that you got a 5 on the AP Lit exam.

funnyman, why stay away from The Staff?
