<p>Everything can be looked at in different ways. An obstacle might prevent a person from something but it might also provide an opportunity that other people do not get.
When a disadvantage happens to be there and people cannot avoid this certain disadvantage they can adjust their view and use the disadvantage in a benign way. Nick vujicic, an Australian motivational speaker did not have arms and legs when he was born. Obviously, this is an obstacle for him. He even had to learn how to get himself a cup of water. By the age of ten, he still did not give up trying to be involved in the community, and he realized he was not the only person who suffers from without limbs. When he reached seventeen, he realized that his own experience can inspire other people, so he began to give speeches regularly around the world and created his non-profit organization to help other handicapped people. Now, he even has his own books and DVDs published and became one of the most respected in the world. When he was born, no one knows that, as a crippled man, he would become successful in his own way. His parents were desperate and worried about him. Vujicic did not let his disadvantages stop him. He used them and his experiences to inspire other people and created his own success.
Not only physical disabilities can be turned into something good, but also financial crisis during the 1930s in America. The great depression did made many people homeless and unemployed, but it promoted the New Deal, which not only solved the short-term problems but completely changed the national financial and banking system and prevented any future crisis. Roosevelt changed the Great Depression into a chance to completely reform Americas banking system and improved the welfare of the people.
Any obstacles or disadvantages can be turned into something good. Most of the time, obstacles come unprepared and unavoidable, so the only thing people can do is to look at it in different way and try their best to change it into something beneficial to themselves.</p>
