I applied to Stern, and if I get in, will probably major in finance or something similar. I was wondering if I can minor in something artsy at Tisch, like photography or something?

Or is it just better taking it at CAS?

im not sure you can do much of anything outside of your college - which is a major turn off if that is true. but dont take my word on it, im not completely sure.

i know stern kids can minor in CAS

not sure about tisch tho

I know that tisch kids can double major in CAS and minor at Sterns, but i dont know about the other way around.

You have to audition/interview to get into most, if not all, Tisch programs, so I would venture to say 'no.'

However, there is a program called "Spring at Tisch" where students from other universities, and I assume other colleges at NYU, can study at Tisch for a semester:

As a future Tisch student, I would personally be a little insulted if Stern students were able to major or minor at my school, and I feel the same way about the reverse.

i see no problem with minoring brutkowskiny, a minor only takes a few credits and its not likes you get a tisch diploma if you minor into tisch, or a stern diploma if your minor at stern.. its tisch and stern name that carries all the weight anyways

Not only can Stern kids do a minor at CAS, they are required to take 32 credits at CAS, I do not know how it works with Tisch though,.....just call them up, NYU is very good with answering these questions.

Tisch offers what is called open arts curriculum courses for non-majors. You'd be able to take those classes but not classes with Tisch majors.

Want to correct what I said above, in post #9.
A Stern B.S. degree consists of 128 points. Most students are required to take a MINIMUM of 18 points at CAS, or Steinhardt. Students can only minor at CAS but not at Steinhardt or Tisch. Total points at Steinhardt + Tisch cannot exceed 16 points.
