NYU, Tisch and Stern

Hello, I am a freshman in high school. I make good grades (A's and the ocasional B), I have racked up numerous amounts of community service hours, I am on the community service board. Im in photography and have been for three years, making A+ each year. I love photography and would like to do that for my only job after college, but i also know that it will be hard since few photographers make over 100,000 a year, most making significantly less. So a question for anyone who has an answer, is it possible to get into Stern Business and then minor in Photography at Tisch?

Also if I keep up the grades and do well on the SAT's do you think I would be able to get into Tisch or Stern? Like I said I have a nice photographic portfolio with many images and I have been very successful in my photography. Sorry to ramble

Thanks

No, you cannot minor in Photography at Tisch. The only Tisch minors offered are the ones listed here: [Minors: Tisch School of the Arts at NYU](<a href=“Special Programs”>Special Programs), Applied Theater, Cinema Studies, and BEMT (Business of Entertaintment, Media and Technology, offered jointly by Stern, Tisch and Steinhardt).

You’re a freshman. You have time, grades-wise.

As a Tisch student (film), I can’t emphasize enough how much I’ve learnt and how useful I’ve found film school so far. I’d definitely say that if you want to eventually make photography your career, try for a photography program like Tisch’s, finances permitting. Do NOT go into huge debt for Tisch.

One more thing: $100,000 a year is a tall order for most people working in most industries.
