Hello everyone, there is something bugging me and i wanted to ask you about it.

I was recenty accepted to NYU AD and i am gratefull for that.

The thing is our schools sends IB predicted grades without the stundent knowing. Mine was 45 out of 45. Even though my teachers trusted me there is no way that i ould getthat. I am aiming for a 38 or so.

Apart from that there is no drop in my overall GPA.

Can this result in them canceling their acceptance? Should i send them an updated predicted grades? Thank you.

Do you live in the US? My daughter was planning to do the full IB diploma until last week, when she switched back to AP classes with only IB English. Colleges accept students based on GPA, courses, SATs, etc. They do not accept you based on predicted IB points - students have no idea how many points they have earned and whether they earned the IB diploma until after they graduate. Some schools will accept you as a sophomore with the full IB diploma, but the number of points needed varies from school to school. If you earn the full diploma yet you earn fewer than the predicted number of points, I can’t imagine a school will take away the acceptance. I think the worst thing that would happen is that if you earned 30 points and a school requires 35 to be accepted as sophomore status, then you would just not get all the credits. I can’t imagine that they would turn you away, but I strongly suggest that you call the school and ask. This is why I asked if you were in the US- it may be very very different if you are not.

This prospectus contains forward looking statements, which may or may not come true.

Deviations from YOUR historical performance can result in a rescinded admissions. Your school’s prediction is just that, a prediction. It is no different from a Counselor Recommendation that you are the best thing since sliced bread.

The prediction may be icing on the cake, and the icing may turn out to be horrible. But, it is the cake they are buying, not the icing.

Thank you for all the answers.
I am an international student. I am aware that 45 / 45 is extremely high and near impossible. When i was in the interview i also explained the situation to the admisson officers there.

The problem is i guess my teachers gave that score to give me a boost. I am a good student but i dont think that anyone can get a 45.

Had i known the score i wouldnt have sent it. Even though they meant good i dont want to lose my admision based on a slight misstep by my teachers.

Apart from my iB scores other criteria still satisfied NYU AD i assume.

I will be taking mo k exams and based on the results official IB predicteds will be sent to IBO. I guess i can update NYUAD with those grades and all will be fine.

And no they did not give a definite score.
