Can we change college after receiving a visa?

<p>Hello guys. I was wondering if we can apply for a visa with an I-20 from one college and then go to another college? I don't mean transferring to another college but actually going there from the beginning instead of the one whose I-20 we applied for a visa with?</p>

<p>I have an I-20 from one college and I would like to apply for a visa and get it done with. Meanwhile I have been waitlisted at another college which seems to take forever to give me a decision. So I am getting impatient and so are my parents. </p>

<p>Can I just apply for a visa now and then go to another college if I later get accepted off the waitlist that is?</p>

You cannot use this visa because it is annotated with the name of the school you had originally intended to attend. You will need to re-apply and qualify for the new school.

<p>It’s Ramapo for me. They have granted me full-tuition and and recently added a 6k housing grant. But I have been waitlisled at couple of other colleges which I would rather attend.</p>
