Can we get a thread students who were accepted with LOW SAT scores?...please

Its really competitive to get into UCSB, especially in the last couple of years and EVERY step matters. However, students like me have low SAT scores but good GPA.
SO, those that were accepted with low SATs post their stats..THANK YOOOOU

I had like a 1600 with ~3.96 GPA. Are you first generation and low income? That’d probably make a big difference

wow!..WHEN WERE U ACCEPTED?..and yes im low-income and first generation:)

I’m a second year, so accepted in 2009

ohhh wow! thanks a lot…did u chose an impacted major? lots of questions srryyy

If you’re applying to the College of Letters & Science, then there’d be no impacted majors. The college of l&s doesn’t admit by major.

Had a decent GPA. SAT score was 1850 (excellent math score, laughable reading/writing). I took the ACT and did much, much better on that. I recommend you taking that as well.

Applied major was electrical engineering.

A couple of my friends came here to UCSB with sub-1500 SAT scores.

Anything is possible, my friend.

If you are really good at sports i bet almost any school will take you. They probably dont even go to classes.

I got in with a 1490

All of you guys must have had tremendously epic GPAs or had Amazingly epic Personal statements…a 1490 at UCSB in the last couple of years is unheard of:) Thanks a lot guys!!

you’ll be fine syedmannan. Just keep pushing at it. . .it sooooo worth working hard to get to UCSB or any other college you desire to attend. :)

Thanks for the words of encouragement “hairy lemon”
