can you apply ED to 2 schools if...

if i apply to duke early decision (the deadline is november 1st) and get rejected or deferred (i'll know by december), then can i apply ED to wake forest? (the deadline is january 1st for wake)

i haven't been able to find the answer to this question. i would think the answer is yes, but i'm not sure so...

I think so, since by the time you apply to wake forest, you’ve already been deferred from Duke. I would call both admission offices to ask just in case.

If you get rejected or deferred after applying ED to a college, you can apply ED to another college.

Yeah, what the above posters said. If you’re rejected/deferred by Duke, then you can apply ED to Wake Forest.

massgirl - I was actually going to suggest that strategy to you yesterday - on your thread comparing Duke and Wake - but figured you were already aware of that option since you mentioned you were working with a college counselor. You would get your decision from Duke on Dec. 15th - so if you are not accepted - you still have time to apply either ED or RD to Wake Forest. I don’t know if need-based FA factors into your plans - but if so - I will mention to you that Wake Forest strongly discourages students who need FA from applying ED.

thanks everyone for confirming that it is indeed allowed. i’m not applying for financial aid so fa doesn’t factor into my plans.
