Question about rolling admission/early decision

So if I were to apply to a school like Wake Forest(who has rolling admission) ED in the next week or two, would it be possible for me to hear back from them about my admission before November 1st? My reason for asking is that I’m wondering if I were to get deferred from a school like Wake ED, but I was deferred before the ED deadline, would I be able to apply to another school ED? I know on the common app it says you can only choose one school for ED but if I’m rejected or deferred from that school, is said school essentially erased from my common app or would the common app still restrict me from trying to apply to another school ED?

If you are rejected or moved to the RD group then you can apply to another ED school (usually ED2). I don’t know when you would find out from Wake. From previous years it may be October. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/wake-forest-university/609034-early-decision-notification-wake-forest.html

@“Erin’s Dad” so you say usually ED2 but what if the school doesn’t offer ED2? If I learn the results before the ED November 1st deadline I would be able to apply ED somewhere else correct?

Yes, I think you could. It would be unusual though.

@mat324 I have a friend who got deferred from Wake last year. She heard back by mid October (but applied mid August), and then had time to apply ED to another school. So you definitely can, as long as you hear back in time to make the deadline.
