Can you double major in economics and a business degree at most universities?

Does it depend on the school? Do the majority let you do this? Or do the majority don’t allow it

Yes, assuming they have both majors.

Even at a school like NYU? @shawnspencer

First, most undergraduate business schools will include economics as a possible major/concentration within the business degree and indeed will require some econ courses for the business degree regardless of major/concentration.

Second, many undergraduate business schools will also allow the student to double-major with any major located in the Arts & Sciences school within the university.

Obviously, this may vary by university. NYU has an econ concentration - actually two, business economics and econometrics - within Stern, the business school at NYU. http://www.stern.nyu.edu/programs-admissions/undergraduate/academics/business-program/areas-of-study “You may also have the opportunity to do a major at the College of Arts and Science.” I don’t see why you couldn’t double the business degree with an econ major or minor, but I also don’t see why you’d want to, when you can simply do the econ concentration within Stern, or alternatively, simply major in econ in the Arts & Sciences school, and then go to business school later, after you have work experience.

You can learn a lot by poking around the websites of colleges. I strongly suggest you do this yourself rather than instinctively asking a question on an internet forum. Once you have looked at the available info, you may be able to refine your question, if you haven’t already answered it yourself.

It may be difficult to do, especially if economics is in the liberal arts division of the college (which is the case at many colleges). You would need to check the required coursework for each major as well as the core curriculum that must be completed for each major and see if you can get it all done in the 4 years. The answer will not be the same for every college.
