Eiffel: How much clearer do I need to say this: I am being deadly serious when I say that I like the idea of Calculus for Poets. No sarcasm. Some schools actually do offer honors calculus that are not AP – I wish more high schools offered these.

Okay, good! It’s just that you seemed to say earlier on the thread that you think Calc is extremely important for everyone, so I wasn’t sure.

To be honest, Calc AB taken over the course of a year is basically Calc for Poets if presented well.

So, not AP Calc AB but like…a regular Calc AB, you’re saying? I don’t have that offered at my school, unfortunately.

What do you think about me taking “Calc for Business and Social Science” at my CC? Would it look fine on transcripts or not rigorous enough?

No, I’m saying AP Calc AB. Calc for Business and Social Science won’t be considered any more rigorous than a typical stats or business math class.

WOW HAHAHAHAHA. Yea, I know what’s important, but I am 405 posts on a forum of teenagers short of your knowledge.

“No, I’m saying AP Calc AB. Calc for Business and Social Science won’t be considered any more rigorous than a typical stats or business math class.”

Okay, well, I can’t take AP Calc AB though since they only offer it first term. And at our school, it doesn’t last all year, so that’s why I was confused by what you meant. So, I guess “Analytic Geometry and Calculus I” at CC is the way to go?

Not sure. Talk to your counselor and to the CC’s advisers.

Many schools offer AB over a full year and that’s what I’m referring to.

Okay, I will. :)
