Hi,
I am an international student and I haven't had the chance to visit one of the two universities that I applied to so I am not 100% sure what my decision is. Can I pay the couple of hundred bucks of enrollment fee for both and then just drop one later and loose my money for it? Or is that not allowed?
I know its not correct to do it because there is people in wait list so that is also making me not want to do it, but I would have the chance to visit the school I haven't visited in about two weeks and I am sure that would help me make the decision...

yes, my friend has done it before while choosing between USC and Caltech. She eventually dropped USC and went to Caltech, but paid both SIR fees

Before you double-deposit, try writing to the universities and asking for an extension of the deadline?

Can you? - Yes. You “can do” anything.

Should you? - No. In theory, if one or the other school finds out, it is grounds to withdraw their admissions offer to you.

At the college I am attending, when I sent in the deposit and commitment form, I had to sign on a line that said that I would not deposit someplace else or I would risk the admission offer being rescinded.

This is not OK with any college. Most will grant you an extension so you have time to visit.

Yes, I did it and so did my cousin. I asked UC Davis, UC San diego, and Cal Poly Pomona about whether I can submit SIR to all three schools and cancel later on. They all gave me the same response saying that yes but I will lose my deposit fee if I decided to cancel my spot. It might depends on the schools you want to attend though, some schools could be different.
