Prompt: Is the purpose of education to change the world?

Education in our society is meant to change and improve the conditions of our world. With education comes advances in various fields of studies. Historically, education has brought about improvements in medicine, agriculture, equality, and many other things. It has become the foundation of our society and has developed knowledgeable and capable human beings. With the tools of education, our world has and will continue to change.

In the Green Revolution during the early 20th century, a massive abundance of crops became available. This revolution resulted from extensive research and discoveries in the field of agriculture which were fully dependent on education. Education, which had allowed scientists to make these discoveries, paved the way for the Green Revolution and resulted in a surplus of crops. The effects of the Green Revolution have been a great leap forward for our society. The Revolution cured a number of food shortages that had been prevalent beforehand. Next, it allowed the world population to increase through an improvement in human conditions. Because of these reasons, it is apparent that education has influenced our world in a positive way.

In the novel In the Time of the Butterflies, one could also see the neccessitty(?) of education's positive influence. Minerva Mirabal stressed the importance of attending a university for law studies for the reason that she would gain the ability to combat Rafael Trujillo's harsh dictatorship. Her determination in order to gain education shows how a person may perceive the effects an education can provide. Minerva's stay at the university proved to be effective as she gained the skills neccesarry(?) in toppling Trujillo's regime. She played an unsurmountable(?) role in the revolutionary movement and led rallies, gave speeches, and masterminded the distribution of weapons. All these motives were done for the sake of social justice and equality, showing that education works to change the world positively.

Additionally, in the novel Brave New World, this can also be seen. The novel, written by Aldous Huxley, depicts the sad seperation(?) of humans into a caste system determined by intelligence. Those who possess education have the ability to alter the world and do so, in what they claim is to improve the human condition. (?) By using propaganda, these high caste intellectuals trick their lower counterparts into believing that everyone is happy with their status. While readers see the corruption of this scene,

I ran out of time.

probably a 6 or 7… if your lucky u might get an 8 but dont count on it

@themahn89: Seriously stop ■■■■■■■■.
@OP: Hey, you’ll definitely get above an 8 or above, potentially 9-11. Depends on if you misspelled all those words (which are quite easy to spell). Best wishes.

@RMSniper im just being realistic… its better for him than your little lies. sorry if you dont agree but dont call me names!

LOL. This is funny. Where did I call you a name? “Stop ■■■■■■■■” is a phrase, not a name. Wish you’d learn your own English before attempting to rebuke my statement. I made an 8 by only writing like 2 paragraphs twice. Same with ACT. It’s honestly the medium mark for any essays they see that have good writing style but not too many good details linking the thesis to the essay but still are better than below-average 1-7s. So please, brush up on SAT/ACT policies and previous essay examples before trying to ■■■■■ a forum.

This is probably more of a 10. I think CC’ers lowball essay grades because the essays seem too short…but these essays would definitely fill in all the lines on the real test.

no look at the stupid thing that collegeboard has on their site
if u follow rubric he got a 6 unless collegeboard lies? didnt think so, idiot… you called me ■■■■■

Battle royale

I’d say 9. IMO, the first paragraph is a bit shaky and doesn’t really answer the prompt but just states that change is the product (and a debatable one at that…some would say the green revolution has been a not-so-positive movement) of education, not that change is education’s purpose. The second was good and the third wasn’t finished…but I’m sure you’ll get the timing down by the time you take the test…it looks like it’s headed in the right direction.
