I really feel passionte on the TWO additional essays (yes, besides the common app one) and can't still decide which one to send.
Is it possible to send the two so that I can put another one under "addtional Information" section? Or, would Ad com consider me as an essaymaniac or something..? Does it hurt?

do NOT send in 2 essays. adcoms have thousands of apps. what if everyone sent in two? just pick your favorite one

Pick whichever one is LEAST like your Common App one. I was facing the same predicament as you...I have 3 500ish word essays that I like. I chose my favorite, and then of the other two, I tried to pick which one was the most different in terms of writing style, vocabulary choice, topic, tone, etc.

The worst is applications where they don't even allow you to put a supplement! At least Harvard allows two essays.

I know :PPPP
I am glad Harvard gives us at least one essay option.
I ended up choosing kinda of similar one as common app. :(
I liked the story.
But i knew that if I were going for diversity of essays, I should've chosen the other one.
Oh...welllz........................

Don't send in two essays. It clearly asks for one another, which is optional at that. Only send essays which show how you are different, unique, and why you will be successful at Harvard.

well...i agree with what everyone is saying above but i found myself in the same predictament as you are. I sent in two "optional essays" plus the common app essay and i did pretty well in the whole admissions process.
