As an upcoming sophomore, I was allowed to apply for each of these schools on the UC site, despite all the other ones being “closed off to my level.” However, on each school’s website, it says that you have to have 60 hours under your belt to be admitted, which is impossible to have after freshman year. So, if you have to have 60 hours, why was I allowed to apply? Before even considering my chances of getting in, is it even possible for me to get in?
Do you have AP credit? AP credits can be used toward the 60 transferable units. UCI and UCR will allow lower division transfer applicants to apply but they do state the following: “lower division transfer students (who are eligible for UC from high school) may be considered as space permits”.
Key word is “if space permits”.
Priority is given to Junior level transfers from California CC’s. If you are not accepted this year, you can always reapply next year as Junior level transfer and consider using TAG.
