My teachers can't and it's kind of funny how they try to pronounce it lol. Lots of people too, including my peers have trouble.

Anyone else in the same situation?

eh yea. when i moved to the US, there was this messup with the passports.

now my "first name" is completely messed up. everyone is like ..."iadsfioja!?" no its not similiar to that. that was just an example of their attempts to say something coherent.

then they're like "is it tan, or tang, or tahn."
"-_-"

Haha, 4 out of the 6 letters in my name are vowels. Nuff said.

lmao. At least they can easily get my last name...since it was Obama's fmr last name and a fmr. notorious dictator's hahaa

haha no...my guidance counselor who absolutely loves me and knows me very well misspelled my name on a card she sent me over winter break...

A lot of people misspell my last name, but I can't remember anyone not pronouncing it correctly.

My last name is frequently mispronounced and misspelled.

Some of my grade school teachers mispronounced "Miguel" (not my first name). They said it as if the "uel" made a "well" sound. How sad is that?

"Mig-gwell." Lol. (Shame on you if you pronounce it this way).

I am a parent, and my maiden name was very difficult for many people to spell and/or pronounce. I thought I would be happy to change my name when I got married--but when the time came, it took me an entire year to make the switch; it was just tough to give up MY name, even though I now have an easy one-syllable last name.

my name is stephen, pronounced 'steven'

everyone spells it stephan and/or pronounces it "steffen"

a little obnoxious. the name really isn't uncommon.

my name is so common that everybody should get it right, but I've had some teachers pronouncing an e in my name, where there is no e. And they stared on the attendance list while doing so. I am always surprised how many people make up that e.

People can easily pronounce my first name, but they always seem to have trouble pronouncing my last name. I don't understand why. It's not that hard. But people always manage to rearrange letters and add extra syllables where they don't need to be. lol.

I'm not going to share my last name on here but lets just say I've had several teachers mispronounce my name with pronouncing "smith" as "smithe"

My last name is French and people always try to say it with these terrible false accents. I just want to say "No, my family decided to make it easy for you. Just say all the letters, like you would with any English word."

Haha, my last name is He, but it's not supposed to be pronounced like "he." I've stopped caring. In fact, I even get annoyed when teachers try to pronounce it. It's like, seriously, you're not going to make it sound better, just say "he."

my last name is sergeant, which is a legitimate word in the english language, but people still seem to pronounce it wrong. i dont understand.

^haha wow thats really sad yet funny

no teachers can pronounce my name, ever
i dont like my name though i might change it, or add a middle name since i don't have one

First name: Yes (it's an English word)
Last name: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO (and it's not my username)

No.
I've been called "Jessica," "Julie", "Julia", "Jill", "Jalyssa", "Alyssa", "Jane", "Margaret" (I'm not sure how they got that one...)
I think people look at my name, get intimidated and blurt out the first thing that pops to their mind.

Johnson is a doozey, but I feel bad for those Smith's
