Canucks >>>>>>> Maple Laffs... hence

Vancouver >>>>>>>> Toronto

and Flames >>>>>> everybody else (especially the Oilers)

Canucks aren't half bad. Do you attend a private school, eTHeReaLkEv? Your class is really small.

BEAUTIFUL BRITISH COLUMBIA

I'm a political maniac, and in terms of the political demography, vancouver is a mix of ndp (yuck), liberals, and conservatives. I've been working for the conservatives for years, and to some extent, I really like to meet some of the Albertans on here, since it's the home of the Conservative Party of Canada, and home of our super cool pm Stephen Harper:)

Stephen Harper isn't too bad, I have to admit. I'm kind of inbetween the liberals and conservatives, depending on the issue. The only problem with living in Alberta is that we have zero diversity in our government. And the fact that my MP is Rob Anders. Gaaah.

An interesting new development... the race to be the Alberta premier is open now that Ralph has officially announced his retirement. I never liked him much. Pulling us out of debt caused by the NEP was a good plan, but scrapping funds for health care and education to do it was not the best idea. People complain about wait times... Calgary has only three hospitals for a million people. We actually had six before Ralph decided to close a few down (he closed all the downtown ones too... the most accessible and central ones). That being said, I'm really afraid of who will come next, especially if it turns out to be Ted Morton. That man is frightening!

Alberta economy has BOOMED in the past decade, caused by a global hunger for energy. You guys have the largest oil field in the WORLD (equivilent to the oil reserve of the entire mideast region), and Alberta's become one of the richest provinces, with the best social programs, in Canada. Last year, 4.5 billion SURPLUS...comparing to what we have here in BC... 1.3 billion (along with a bunch of idiots trying to get a bite of that 1.3 all the time, esp the gov't labour unions...)

On most issues, I'm always in solidarity with the government in power (except NDP, they'll never form a government anyway). I know for a fact that the government's already having a hard time dealing with such eminent oppositions and armies of critics, and without the support from citizens like me, nothing productive can be efficiently completed. We need to "work" with the gov't, no matter what its political affiliation as long as it represents the interests of the people. Many unimportant, minor issues and unavoidable errors are always brought up on headline news by the oppositions and special interest groups. I don't really like these bragging oppositions, since they can only argue and deride and poke fun at the government from "behind the scene." Their job is simple: to screw up the current gov't in power so they could hold a vote asap and get elected into office to acquire "more power"...

ontario ... mississauga ... but now living in da US
