Anyone here apply or know anyone that applied to Roswell Park Cancer Institute for their PhD programs? On PhDs.org their biophysics program is highly rated. Additionally, let me know what you think of their program considering that RPCI is the nations oldest national cancer center.

Please reply to my post!

Please respond to my post! Come on now, this is ridiculous!

I've heard of Roswell Park, but never knew they even had a PhD program.

OP, why did you use such a ridiculous threat title? No wonder no one had replied. Why not post with something more informative?

I clicked on here thinking you were in grad school (or applying) and you had cancer.

have you thought about the fact that no one is replying because they have no idea what you are talking about?

Seconded, newmassdad

I was trying to get people's attention and I figured if they read my post carefully, they would understand and then hopefully give an hopefully give an honest response.

I do know that cancer is a sensitive issue, I am doing research on finding ways to better detect cancer via imaging and ways to better deliver cancer drugs to the site of the tumor.

Well, you should try again.

These boards are not a place for gimmicks, nor for the impatient who bump thing because they did not get a reply to their initial misleading title.

This is not reality TV, it is not a magazine with a flashy cover on the news stand.

You need to develop a little more respect for the intelligence of others. If you keep up your current attitude, science grad school will eat you alive. I can just see your first journal club presentation: Catchy misleading title, roll of eyes from the audience, senior faculty member who eats you alive...

I will be doing my rotations there starting january 2009. They are tied to SUNY Buffalo. You have to go through the IGPBS or get directely accepted. The IGPBS is the best route or the medschool MD/PhD

Why do you think that the IGPBS is the best way to do it if you just want a PhD? If you are a PhD student at Roswell Park Cancer Institute, you can take classes at Buffalo as well as Roswell. If you are in the Molecular and Cellular Biophysics and Biochemistry Department, your adviser can be from any department including UB with the only stipulation being that the project has to focus on Cancer.

I think that the IGPBS is a great program, congrats on getting in. Who are you going to do your rotations with? If you have any Roswell ?'s pm me.
