ah, DODMERB says "offer extended." now just waiting for the mail.
i think i got it from the nom from Senator Kohl (WI).

Vaultermom is yours the 5th also? Curious to see if he has different dates to get all of the interviews done, b/c I can't see him getting all of the acad noms done on the same say

Yes, it's the 5th -- We have yet to receive specific instructions regarding the time and exact location.

Hi, from Texas here. Has anyone heard back from the Senators?

Obviously I am not, but someone else posted they have the LOA a couple of days ago. If he had a nom, I would think he would have stated that too

My son heard back (in the negative) from Cornyn. No news from Hutchison at least our end.

that could be a good sign if they talk to each other. Remember it is not uncommon for sen. to not have duplicates. Plus I am sure tx has a large pool. Our senator's aide told my s when he called to make sure they rec. his packet that there were over 315 applicants...ouch!
We're still actually waiting on our rep. they didn't meet until this week.

bulletandpima I hadn't thought of it that way. From what I understand, TX typically does have a very large pool of applicants, but it is a big state as well.

Just my opinion, throw it in the circular filing cabinet, but have your s call the other sen. to make sure they have his packet. He can than ask when the nom committee would be meeting and releasing results. That might help you get through the wait process if u know the date.

Also remember that is only 1 part of the whole process and that in the end if the acad wants him they'll find a way including giiving a prep school slot.

Son received his Rep nom today.

3 Q'd, so he's hoping he doesn't have to wait until March / April to hear something.

Florida.

does offer extended mean u get an loa or appointment, if at all. cause i just logged in dodmerb and it says that so im pretty curious

my dodmerb status said offer extended when I had an LOA and it said something like..subagency: NALOA. After I got my appointment the subagency thing was gone.

if there's no subagency, i'm pretty sure it means appointment. that's what happened to me, too. got the call from my MOC today (the day after i found out from dodmerb).

thanks for the info, do you think i'm guranteed a letter of acceptance though

well it sure does sound like you have something good coming your way! but nothing is guaranteed until you hold that letter in your hands.

zrmvrhs08/Illini Fan,

We spoke to one of the senator's offices, and they had estimated the number of applicants between 600 and 700 around the deadline time. I believe Cornyn's office has notified everyone. My son received his nom from our congressman. About two weeks later, he received a declination letter from Cornyn. We have not heard from Hutchinson nor do we know of anyone who has received a response. Our congressman told us that they coordinate the noms between the MOC in an effort to grant more noms, so I'd be surprised if anyone receives two noms (from within Texas.)

I'm in basically the same boat as ww2buff. I was rejected from Cornyn's office earlier this year and have yet to hear from Hutchinson or Cong. Carter. Last year Carter called on 17 December, so he should be making some calls any day now.

Last year Hutchinson sent a letter saying I was withdrawn from their pool because I received the nom from Carter. So, ww2buff is pretty much spot-on about the lack of double noms in Texas.

Wow, hooyahmicah, I was rejected by Cornyn's office as well and have yet to here from Hutchinson and Carter also. Looks like you and I are really in the same boat.

Nomination came in the mail today, my birthday !(x 2012) Still working through medical waiver, but one step closer to I-day!!!

My son received his offer of Appointment today!

What an amazing thing to see something that he set his sights on years ago actually be realized. Of course, now the really hard work begins!
