ranger-hooah: Are you referring to The West Point Candidate Handbook by William Smallwood? It is a great book and is available at Amazon.com.

no Ann i was actually talkign about the book that the new cadets get on R-Day. it has all of the stuff that the new cadest need to knwo an memorize and are tested perodically throughout beat and thier plebe year.

Bugle Notes?

I think the book that new cadets get on R Day is called Knowledge. I also think it changes from year to year and it is not available to the general public or new cadets prior to R Day.

i think i am talking about bugle notes

I think you can buy a copy of bugle notes at the WP Museum shop - don't have a link though.
This site may help you:

RH,

I sure hope you don't plan to start memorizing your plebe knowledge. It's really too early. You'll be better served reading books like the Smallwood book, Duty First, Absolutely American and other listed elsewhere on this site. On the other hand, there is an awful lot of information in Bugle Notes and could be interesting reading.

Ranger - you sound like a good kid who's very interested in being an officer. But to get in you have to concentrate as hard as you can on your academics and on leadership activities. Forget about Bugle Notes - it's a lot of relatively useless information that is use for the good purpose of getting the Plebes to concentrate. You'd be better off right now memorizing the Declaration of Independence rather than how many gallons of water there are in Lusk Reservoir. Good Luck!!

78 million gallons when the water is flowing over the spillway lol i just thought know some of the information now would help out later on.

Heritage is no longer part of the knowledge. It really does change year to year...

yea, it's almost the end of the second week of the academic year and I still havent even looked at my Bugle Notes
