Cannot Track Duke Application

Hello. I applied to Duke about a week ago, and they sent me this email:

"You will receive additional messages from Duke with instructions on how you can track the progress of your application for admission and for financial aid (if applicable) online, and how and when you can check your admissions decision. In the meantime, access our application forms and deadlines list to be sure you submit all necessary pieces for a complete application."

I have not received any additional message from Duke containing any such instructions. Is this normal, or should I contact the admissions office?

Another poster has said that they were able to resend the activation email for the Portal by using the “resend” feature on the site. Also, check your spam folders!

I tried using the resend feature, and it did not work.

That other poster was me…

I’m using Hotmail and even though I get ALL Duke email, somehow, the activation email for the self service portal was being automatically blocked. Blocked in the sense that it didn’t even go into the junk folder, it wasn’t visible ANYWHERE…

So what I did was, put " @duke.edu " into the safe list…(google it, the process is pretty straight forward)

Once @duke.edu is in the safe list, use the resend feature again…you should get the activation email this time around…

I’ll try that. Thanks for the tip.

@EarlyAction,

I just tried what you suggested, and when I used the resend feature, I got this message: “Error: We were unable to verify your information. Please try again, or contact the Duke Service Desk at (919) 684-2200 or email help@oit.duke.edu for assistance.”
So I emailed them. I guess this did not happen to you?

Nope that is not what happened for me. But then again, in my case they had actually sent me the email once, but it had been blocked and so the resend worked for me. In your case, they probably haven’t made the online account yet. Either that, or the information you entered didn’t match the application.

Either way, if you are RD then no worries, there’s plenty of time to sort this out…

Good luck!
