This happens especially when im on the CR section. Im not sure why this happens..maybe its cuz im nervous. But i end up re-reading some sentences in the passages multiple times and end up not completing the section.

does this happen to you? how do you deal with concentration problems?

I have the exact same problem but I force myself to finish it. I think CR is a LOT easier if it deals with something you like so try believing that you're about to read the most interesting thing in the world.

I had the same problems. I consistently got around 650 in verbal because I could not focus on a particular article/question. I would read and re-read certain sentences and they still would not make any sense to me. But, in a few months, after reading everything I could get a hold of, I managed to raise my score to an 800. I tried to read passages with distractions. For example, I would read or try to do some practice problems w/ the TV or radio on. Also, I practiced reading lots of technical stuff like science and history textbooks. Critical Reading is all about processing everything in the passage in a short amount of time. So if you can get through dense science text with lots of technical jargon and still understand everything, then you are more than prepared for the sat. Also, try reading Shakespeare. After having a tough time reading and understanding him, I found that normal, more modern text is so much easier. This is purely advice that I think worked for me, so take it at face value. Anyway, good luck with the SATs.
