Can't decide LMU, University of San Diego, or UC Irvine

Hi, I am going to be a business major, and I currently cannot decide whether to go to Loyola Marymount, USD, or UCI. I like the location of Loyola Marymount the best, I think UCI is probably the most prestigious of the three, and I also really liked USD when I visited. Any ideas on which has the best reputation for jobs in So Cal? I really can’t decide and could use some guidance!

I can’t speak to the jobs prospects, but it strikes me that UCI and USD are very different institutions – in size and feel. You can get a top-rate education at UCI but you would not have the personal touch and smaller feel of USD. The students are probably very different. UCI has a lot of first-generation college students and many who qualify for Pell grants and a very large percentage of Asian American and Latino students. I read somewhere recently that at USD 30 percent of the students come from families that pay the full tuition and expenses, which is more than $60K a year. Is money a concern for you? If so, then go to UCI. If not, then consider where you would feel most comfortable as a student – and try to talk to those who go there now and might give you insight into the university and the programs that interest you. I think students do their best work where they feel most comfortable.

Did you get CHP or Regents at UCI since these are the only applicants that have heard so Far?
