I can't decide which school to go to: UCSD or UCLA. I'm planning on majoring in life sciences: zoology/animal behavior. I plan on going to veterinary school after I graduate. I know UCSD has one of the top biology programs in the nation, but UCLA is a top rated university as a whole. Which school will give me a better education in terms of the program I want to follow? Which school will give me a better chance of getting into veterinary school?

If you’re doing something with animals, I would assume that UCSD would be better, with their world class zoo and SeaWorld.

Just speculation, though :P.

Isn’t UC Davis top dog? ;)

ucapplicant05: I considered going to UC Davis, but I ultimately decided I didn’t really like the campus. So for now, I’m trying to decide between UCSD and UCLA. I figure I’ll go to UC Davis for vet school anyway, so I can do my undergraduate work anywhere.

Between UCSD and UCLA, I would choose UCLA for undergrad. This is based on my experience as having studied at both schools, so it’s “anecdotal.”

UCLA offers a better social experience, access to activities, and a more cohesive student experience overall.

My $.02.
