Which college for Vet school?

I can't decide which school to go to: UCSD or UCLA. I'm planning on majoring in life sciences: zoology/animal behavior. I plan on going to veterinary school after I graduate. I know UCSD has one of the top biology programs in the nation, but UCLA is a top rated university. Which school will give me a better education in terms of instruction? Which school will give me a better chance of getting into veterinary school?

UC Davis would be the best.

While UC Davis would be your best bet, since you didn’t list UC Davis I assume its not an option. Both UCSD and UCLA are top quality schools. You should also consider the fact that you need a lot of hours working with a vet to get into vet school. I think the traffic in LA would make leaving the campus to go work with a vet a bit prohibitive.

The difference between UCSD and UCLA (or even UC Davis) is not as relevant as the need to focus on maintaining a very high science GPA AND accumulating animal care hours with a vet or at a vet hospital.

Pick the school you think you’ll thrive at!
