Can't Decide

<p>My son has three schools he's trying to decide between. The state decided to change their financial aid software in MARCH (!?!), so they still don't have FA packages out. Two of his choices are state u's, one is a private. </p>

<p>He has LDs, and the one state U would like for him to take a transition program in the summer; the other doesn't require it. The private wants him "on probation" for the first semester. His verbal SATs weren't the best, and we can appreciate that.</p>

<p>I know people who have double deposited, and I know you shouldn't do it. And if we deposited to one state u, we probably couldn't do the other because it would probably be in the state u system records. We'd rather double to both states, though, because of the probation issue!</p>

<p>We need to buy some time, and I can probably write to the private and ask. The states shouldn't say anything because it's their own fault we don't have the FA packages yet. But we need to have the deposit for the one state by May 1 because the transition program starts in June.... And actually, *I like the idea of the transition program for him. But if something happens and he hates it there.............then he's out of luck. </p>

<p>So not sure what to do. I hate this. Any ideas?</p>

<p>I can’t imagine that the two state U’s will not extend their May 1 deadline if you don’t have FA packages yet??</p>

<p>I am sure they would. It still doesn’t solve the problem of what happens if he hates it at the one that wants him to take the transition program. Sometimes these programs are not as good as we think they should be. And then he’s out of luck and can’t go to the other state u, which accepted him as a regular student.</p>
