can't find my dream school...

i've already been accepted at tulane and i would be content living in new orleans for four years but i'm still wonderin if there's a better school out there for me

i'm lookin for a school with warm weather all year long, a nice beach nearby or on campus, A LOT of weed to smoke, and some nice and friendly hippies who know how to party... i don't know what my major will be yet

i think uc santa cruz or santa barbara would be cool if i could get into them out of state

some info about me: i'm a white male from chicago, 30 act, 3.6 unweighted gpa, pretty rigorous schedule, within the top 25% of my class, my extracurriculars are mediocre.. i'm workin over 30 hours a week now (in my senior year) but i still got 4 A's and 2 B's this semester in mostly ap classes

so what do ya think? :D

Have you thought about Jamaica?

lol i don't know of any colleges in jamaica. and i'm pretty sure i want to stay in the states. thanks though ;)

anyone know if pitzer or occidental would be a good match?

Except for the weather (it is moderate, not warm), I would say U of Oregon. Maybe U of Miami, though not sure how granola it is there. Oxy or Pitzer sound like good options, though they are a decent jaunt from the coast. Oooh, just thought of a great match - check out New College of Florida in Sarasota... you want chill, hippie vibe & warm weather, they got you covered, broseph!

Just saying, there are colleges in Jamaica, but you may as well stick to the States since its a different educational system.

Yeah, UCSB would be perfect for you, definitely apply and I think you have a good shot even though you're OOS. I second Oxy and Pitzer too, though they're a little farther from the beach (still beautiful weather of course) and about as hard to get into as UCSB, or Reed College in Oregon (if you don't mind working hard academically, I know they play hard too).

i guess the uc schools' application deadline was in november, so i can't apply anymore which really sucks. i wonder why they are so early..

but i will def check out new college of florida and reed and the others listed, thanks :)

yeah new college for florida for sure,
and apply to pitzer. it offers everything you want except the beach right next door.

btw you can also always look into going to usc or oxy. both schools are bound to have potheads. a lot of college students smoke pot, and more than one of the people you meet and befriend are bound to have a car, if you wont. and in your following years you could move out to the westside, and live in venice or something.

May I suggest Help for Drug Problems | Drug Addiction | Intervention | Alcohol Problem - The Partnership For a Drugfree America If you're serious about going to a good college and doing well, a lot of weed won't help you.

Eckerd College . About Eckerd

Forget college and head for Club Med. If I were your parent and read this I would not spend a cent until you were really ready for college. Then again head off to UCSB and you will be as unemployable as half the kids I went to high school with that headed there! And do not forget Santa Cruz and Humbolt. The more you smoke the more they look like great colleges!

You may want to look at universities in Florida, Texas, and East Coast ( not including northeast). Not only did I include what you prefer, but also your grades etc... West coast may also fit your preference.
