Which do you think would provide a better summer experience STI or CAP21?

Calliene, i dug out some notes I took at the parent meeting at CAP21 last summer, where they discussed all the programs they offer. They do have a Professional Summer Program for those who have graduated from high school or college. They cover the following: Acting/Scene Study, Acting/Musical Scene Study, Vocal Performance, Vocal Technique, a full Dance Program (jazz/theatre dance, tap and ballet), Music Theory, Audition Technique and Business of Theatre.

It is a 6 week program.
Hope this helps.

Mom24Girls - my d just accepted to CAP 21 summer program. She is only 17 - housing seems really a sticking point. What suggestions do you have?

I sent you an email!

We’re trying to decide on CAP21 and Northwestern Cherubs (Cherubs acceptances have not gone out yet). My daughter is a 16 year-old junior who won’t turn 17 until October. We could really use advice on housing. Thanks so much!

mimilj, check into housing through The New School. Dorms are about 5 blocks from CAP, safe, and come with kitchens. No meal plan so your daughter will have to budget and plan carefully…cook meals, etc. It worked well for my son and his roommates when they were there and it got them some valuable life experience. Good luck!

Also look at the acclaimed Circle in the Square programs, also in NYC. Very much like CAP 21 in terms of its various offerings.

Does anyone have any knowledge of how competitive cap 21 highschool mt summer program is to get into? How many apply? How Many do they accept? Teacher/student ratio?
