CAP Situation

First of all, UT has been my dream school ever since I was little. It’s the only place I can see myself graduating from. My option for CAP is limited to just UTEP, because I slacked off my first two years of high school only began taking it seriously my junior and senior year. I am confident I can easily get a 3.2 or above at UTEP. My other colleges to choose from currently would either be my local CC, UTA (non-CAP), UNT, and possibly UTD. If I went to these schools it would only be for one year then I would apply to transfer to UT. In my situation what sounds most feasible? Currently I am undecided on my major but I have a general idea of what school from UT I would consider pursuing a degree from. 1. CNS 2. (tied with two schools) either Cockrell or COLA 3. McCombs or Moody If something were to happen and prevent me from transferring to any school besides COLA, I would be perfectly fine with obtaining a degree in liberal arts. So what sounds like the best option for me? Agreeing to CAP or going to another university for a year then applying as a transfer student?

Go to UTEP–with your CAP option, just do well and you can transfer to UT or anywhere else. Or even stay at UTEP, get a BS in Chemistry (or other NS), then you can get a master’s anywhere in the country. Keep your grades up, and you will have plenty of options.
