Captain vs Co-Captain?

I'm in the process of applying for college and I'm not sure about the distinction between putting down captain or co-captain of the golf team.

My coach is awesome and says that everybody who's a senior on varsity can put themselves down as being a captain. There's only two seniors on the team this year (another girl and me), and so we're technically "co-captains". However, I have been playing the number 1 spot , I've consistently scored the best on our team this entire season, and I've broken all of our school records. I've organized fundraisers for the tshirts I designed for my team, and individually took my teammates to lessons so they can get better. The other senior is our second best player, but she hasn't done nearly as much for our team.

Should I still put down co-captain or am I entitled to the captain position? Golf is one of the only leadership positions I have, and since I'm applying to extremely selective schools, I need as much as I can get.

Thanks in advance.

A co-captain is the same as a captain.

Yes, you are a captain. You can write captain.
