i hav 2 tries on SAT (710/740/670) - ACT - (30 composite) did well in math, but poor in science. Full IB, 3.95 GPA

Public School, All schooling in the Carolinas

Orchestra and Baseball - not the star in either - but in the team all years

A little bit of other activity no other ecs

Like West Coast Schools. Looking at Stanford, Duke, Vanderbilt, UCLA

Any advice from current students?

thanks!!

okayyyyyy
no too stanford, there's honestly just now way
and probably not to Duke - that would be a pretty big reach too
UCLA seems like a good match though
you should also try some other UC's, such as Davis and San Diego.

<3 ya!

Oprah..
what can i do to up my chance - or is it too far fetched..
thanks

A few of the things that would help your chances would be to:

1) Play on three championship teams and captain them all.

2) Achieve an unweighted GPA of 13.4 or higher to show your academic prowess.

3) Win a Nobel Prize. It can be in anything, but something like Physics would give you nearly a 20% chance to get in.

4) More ECs! ECs! ECs! ECs!

5) Winning the 2008 Presidential Election might give you as much as a 35% chance to make it in.

6) Did I mention ECs? Oh, and you have to be the president of all of the clubs you're in, or it's no dice.

And of course the other CC staples...

I have personally done 5 of those 6.

"I have personally done 5 of those 6."

That's good, but your chances of being accepted into a legendary hall of study such as Yale or Princeton is minimal nonetheless. Only the best of the best are accepted into such programs, so you might want to solve the global food crisis and discover a cure for cancer to give yourself any kind of a substantial chance.

I actually also single-handedly dismantled the USSR(from the inside). I have documentation to prove it. But I know that in the end, I'm not good enough, and will have to settle living on the streets.

That's pretty lame compared to something like being the leader/president/whatever the hell of the model UN club and the school newspaper group. Looks like you'll have to settle for your local community college while us truly elite snobs get our parents to pay our ways through the Ivy League schools!

I am truly a failure in life. Excuse me while I leave for my shift at the local crackhouse. I am currently interning there and really learning some important life lessons.

Stanford - far far reach
Duke - Reach
UCLA - Match
Vanderblit - Match

Josh34 - thanks.
itsthemendy16, Neutrino : done every one of the items u listed - did'nt u recog me? - still am the president - jus waiting to get out of iraq before putting it on my application

Oh, silly Mr. Bush, you already went to college!

I spent the summer between 8th and 9th grade hunting down and ultimatley capturing Osama bin Laden. But the CIA still hasn't made it public and they're only paying me the $50 million in installments and I still have to pay taxes.
