I attended my career fair last Wednesday (uc berkeley) and was wondering if anyone knew the response time for recruiters contacting condidates for on campus interviews. If I haven't gotten contacted from a company by now can I assume I won't be contacted? Or do they usually contact people 1-2 weeks before they are actually having the on campus interviews?

It depends on what kind of career fair it was. In my experience, you still need to put in official applications after attending career fairs at college - the fair itself is a way to get a quick introduction, and perhaps dropping your resume with someone will help get you an interview after you apply, but dropping a resume does not in and of itself constitute an application, so I wouldn’t expect to hear from anybody to be honest.

For on campus interviews, you likely need to submit an application. The listing on your school’s website will tell you how many interviews are being given, and if you are selected for an interview, you will then be able to set up a time that works for you.

I don’t know your full situation or your school’s OCR policies, but if I were you, I’d check the career services website and see if you missed anything. Fortunately, fall recruiting goes on til’ almost the end of the semester, so while you missed some companies, other companies haven’t even started recruiting at Berkeley yet.

Good luck!

My daughter had her career fair at least two weeks ago and she is still getting requests for interviews. The last one was just a day or so ago. But she did put in resume’s at each place and also indicated she was interested in interviews. Make sure you are following every step required at your school with each company of interest.
