Career Goals

So what do you all want to major in college? What do you hope to do for a career?

I personally will major in economics in my undergrad, hopefully work for one of the Big Four auditors out of college for a few years, and then go to business school to get my MBA. I really want to be a CFO for a company one day.

I want to major in biology or chemistry. As for a career, I might work in the private sector as a biologist or chemist, I might go into academia, or I might decide to become a doctor. I'm still not sure.

I want to major in finance. I want to be a billionaire fund manager.

Investment Banking FTW.

I'm going to major in psychology. Not sure what I'm going to do with it yet. Considering research...

Or maybe clinical. I just don't know.

If I do research, though, I'll probably either focus on developmental psych or social psych.

^ Same hear. But I have big dreams. I want to big a leading teenage or celeb Psychologist that everyone is like, " Bulimia and selfmutalation, ha. Just call Dr. Rob up and he will fix you in no time." But, that is unlikely, but a man can dream.

I'm completely undecided what I want to do with my life. I literally have NO idea what I want to do. Hopefully I'll become inspired in college =]

I want to study English, creative writing, psychology, philosophy, chemistry, anthropology, religion, a few foreign languages (def French and Russian, and I'd like to pick up conversational Spanish or Italian as well), and dabble in some artsy things (digital photography, dance, maybe some theatre).

We'll see where I end up :]

I want to teach chemistry, for sure. I'm majoring in chemistry in college, and I'll probably minor in religion just 'cause it's really interesting. :D I'd like to join Teach For America once I finish college, and keep teaching at the high school level for a while afterwards. If I ever get sick of high schoolers, I'll go to grad school, get a Ph.D. and become a college professor. I'd like to be a professor at an LAC, though, so I could focus on teaching and not research.

...Of course, this could all change, but it sounds really good to me right now.

I'm thinking of majoring in film studies or broadcast journalism & minoring in spanish. I might even major in chemistry instead. & I REALLY want to go to UCLA, NYU, or University of Georgia.

But in the long run, it would be awesome to become a film/television producer or become a foreign correspondent.

I want to dual major in Engineering and Business/Finance. Then I'll probably go to business school for training and be an engineer manager. I'll also have the skills for day trading in case I ever lose my job.

I want to major in political science as an undergrad, then either go to law school or to grad school for journalism. I'll probably end up a journalist of some kind, but I'm also interested in humanitarian issues, which is why I'll consider attending law school.

I want to major in Ancient History/Studies or Egyptology, and minor in Spanish and something equal-rights based.

Then I want to go to law school and become a children's rights' attorney. Basically I want to help kids like me.

either major in photojournalism n travel the world
or major in zoology, go on to vet school and open my own clinic/shelter one day because when i take care of someone else's pet, i actually want to know how and i will actually care and not be how some vets are these days...
BIG ANIMAL LOVER <3

is it normal to be going into college with out a clue in what you want to major in?

want to major in molecular biology.

although not sure what i'd do after. Research maybe? Although, my parents don't think its a viable career...they want me to go into business. bleh.

What about medical school?

I want to go into the medical field for sure. I really want to become a Doctor. If for some financial obligation or personal reason I cannot go to medical school I'll probably become a male nurse ( although I would probably get made fun of by my peers for this lol ) or go to business school and be a CEO, CFO, director of a department, or COO of a hospital.

The thing is I don't really like the medical aspect of biology. I like doing research a lot, hehe. I want to work w/ DNA, genes, and cells. I might go into bioinformatics because according to my grandparents it's a growing field. We'll see...

Definitely do what you want. Don't let your parents control what you'll be doing for the rest of your life if you don't even enjoy it.
