Carelessness

Hey guys i'm always making stupid carless mistakes on tests in school which effects my grades immensly, and on the Sat's . Can you guys give some advice to better my knowledge so I stop making careless mistakes in suject such as math, chemistry and english.

careless mistakes are hard to prevent, especially in math. I would recommend going slower and reading the question in its entirety. I usually have 5-10 mins left over on math sections because I rush and make stupid mistakes.

Depends on the careless mistake...
It helps to write out your thought process, even if you feel you can do it all in your head...you may write something down that you would have thought was right in your mind but looks absurd on paper

To avoid bubbling the wrong thing (it ALWAYS happened to me), circle the answer that you choose in the text booklet. When you go to check your work, make sure that the answer you circle is the answer you bubbled. Surprisingly, this can grab you a few extra points with minimal effort.

if you have time left over go back and check over everything. Try to slow down while your working. Careless mistakes are going to happen, but if you focus harder you might prevent them from happening so often

after getting a <750 on march sat, i broke my habit of carelessness in a hurry and got an 800 in may.

don't be overconfident. simplify the problems and even though u can do everthing in ur head/calc you actually filter out careless mistakes by writing a couple of things on paper. i normally finish 10-15 early, so i went back and started from problem 1 and did em over again. i caught a mistake on a number 7 that was just pure carelessness(it was a vertical line and i said it was x=2 caus i couldnt count the number of ticks(it was x=3)). I fixed that and luckily, 800!

i agree, on math carelessness is the HARDEST thing to overcome. you can learn the problems easily, but carelessness is hard to overcome.
